Enrollment Growth

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges direct the Executive Committee to investigate innovative ways to meet the needs of a rapidly increasing student population and prepare recommendations for the Board of Governors.

Ecological Practices

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges urge local senates to implement ecologically sound practices on their respective college campuses such as: (1) using recycled paper for photocopying; (2) using biodegradable recycled containers in the cafeteria; (3) having collection receptacles for glass and aluminum.

DSP&S Funding

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges urge the Board of Governors to fully fund current services before requiring additional services of Disabled Students Programs & Services.

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges urge the Board of Governors to fund any additional Disabled Students Programs & Services at an appropriate rate.

DSP&S Task Force

Whereas there is lack of consensus among Disabled Students Programs and Services personnel over the proposed changes in Title 5 Regulations which would include the psychologically disabled, and

Whereas these proposed changes did not go through the consultation process as outlined by the Chancellor's Office before they were presented to the Board of Governors at the September 1990 meeting,

Academic Year

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges direct the Executive Committee to prepare a position concerning possible changes in the length of the Academic Year.

Diversifying the Curriculum

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges direct the Executive Committee to collect from local senates examples of ways that faculty have changed the curriculum to reflect the contributions of California's diverse population including the disabled, women, ethnic minorities, and other underrepresented groups, and

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges direct the Executive Committee to prepare material on curriculum changes for distribution statewide to local senates.

ESL Articulation

Whereas students often find that ESL courses completed at one California Community College do not fulfill requirements at other California Community Colleges,

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges develop a process of articulation in ESL between and among California Community Colleges.

Basic Skills Articulation

Whereas students often find that basic skills courses completed at one California Community College do not fulfill requirements at other California Community Colleges,

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges develop a process of articulation in basic skills between and among California Community Colleges.
