The ASCCC has included diversity in its SLO Coordinators and Accreditation Institutes as well as recent papers and has communicated its concerns to the ACCJC.
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges urge the Accrediting Commission to include affirmative action as a continuous element in its standards for accreditation and as part of annual reports submitted by institutions, and
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges urge the Accrediting Commission to require that current standards of affirmative action be addressed by the visiting team and by the self study committee, and
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges urge the Accrediting Commission to include in the Accreditation Handbook a statement on diversity/affirmative action and require that the college affirmative action officer be included in all aspects of the self study and team visit.
