Whereas, Navigating the complex system of the articulation of courses among California's segments of higher education is at best confusing;
Whereas, Articulation System Stimulating Interinstitutional Student Transfer (ASSIST) has been designed to facilitate this navigation;
Whereas, The articulation officers in California's community colleges have requested that the ASSIST database be programmed to enable users to input a single course and receive a list of how that course articulates at the CSU and UC, a "Single Course Query"; and
Whereas, This "Single Course Query" would prove invaluable to articulation officers and faculty as they work with students, develop courses, and/or request articulation;
Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges request that the course-to-course articulation information in ASSIST be freely available and accessible to articulation officers and faculty; and
Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges support the development of a "Single Course Query" function in ASSIST that would be freely available and accessible to articulation officers and faculty. MSC Disposition: ASSIST Board, System Office, Local Senates
