Whereas the primary mission of California Community Colleges is to prepare individuals for work and citizenship, and
Whereas the global economy of today's business is set in a rapidly changing environment of political, economic, social, technological, and ecological forces, and
Whereas employees in today's businesses are faced with an environment shaped by the information age, and
Whereas there is an increasing demand for employees capable of making significant contributions to a firm's economic success through their understanding of matters related to contracts, budgeting and staffing, organizational design, marketing, contemporary management practices, and human relations,
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges direct the Executive Committee to develop a General Education model or models for discussion at a future session; and
Resolved that consideration be given to requiring courses on Introduction to Business, Computer Information Systems, and Multiculturalism in the General Education Pattern.
