Whereas the federal and state governments mandate various waste and hazardous material handling and disposal regulations, and

Whereas the costs of clean-up and disposal of materials designated by these regulations has become a significant percentage of the cost of continuing to offer certain academic and occupational educational programs, and

Whereas the impact of these increased costs may significantly curtail these programs across the curriculum,

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges recommend to the Board of Governors that it urge the legislature to appropriate sufficient monies to cover the costs of handling and disposing of hazardous wastes and materials as regulations are implemented.
