A breakout was held at the Spring 1999 Plenary Session on occupational education committees on campus in which the document was distributed, a panel spoke on the issues involved with occupational education committees.
Whereas industry/education partnerships may be a future requirement for funding of--and ultimately the survival of--many vocational and technical programs, and
Whereas faculty may be involved in the initiation, structuring, and negotiation of those partnerships, and
Whereas there appears to be no readily accessible resources available to faculty that address their concerns in initiating these partnerships,
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges direct the Executive Committee to create a Model Partnership Guidelines document that is written from a faculty perspective, and
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges direct the Executive Committee to include in this document direction, definition, desired outcomes, process, limitation, checklists, and cautions, and
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges direct the Executive Committee to distribute the Model Partnership Guidelines document to the academic senates of all California Community Colleges. M/S/C Disposition: Executive Committee
