Whereas the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges strives to improve communication with the local senate through the use of the Local Academic Senate Network, and
Whereas timely communication is essential to the effectiveness of the organization, and
Whereas InfoNet provides a method for effective, timely communications through its telecommunication network encouraged by the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges, and
Whereas because of local budget constraints during difficult economic times the cost of telecommunications may prohibit or inhibit some faculty members from participating in InfoNet,
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges explore with the other community college organizations a collaborative approach to the establishment of an 800 number access line, jointly funded, to facilitate connection to InfoNet from throughout the state of California.
