Whereas, California community colleges are encountering a budget crisis and are looking for places to cut spending;
Whereas, Faculty might want to recover monies paid in dues by administrators and boards to their organizations; and
Whereas, A reduction of the Academic Senate dues would give faculty leverage in asking for a reduction of dues from administration and board organization;
Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges research the dues structure and relevant statutes governing the levying of organizational dues paid by local districts; and
Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges work to ensure that local dues for the Academic Senate (like those of other organizations to which districts belong) are paid out of district funds rather than out of local academic senate budgets.
