Review of Board Policies

Whereas AB 1725 declares California community colleges as equal partners in the post-secondary education of our citizens, and

Whereas changing demographics has inspired a challenge to meet student needs with rigor and standards as well as understanding and appreciation, and

Whereas faculty is expected to be both scholars and teachers as in other segments of our higher educational system, and

Whereas local board policies impact the mission and goals of local colleges, but may not reflect the AB 1725 intent,

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges recommend to local senates that they examine existing local board rules and policies so that these local policies do in fact reflect the intent of AB 1725.
